The Shutter Shades Crew invades Cinespace

Last night, the Shutter Shades Crew checked out Cinespace in Hollywood. Tuesday nights at Cinespace are Dim Mak nights, hosted by Steve Aoki and The Cobrasnake. It was a nice crowd and from the looks of things, we had some fun.

On November 3rd, the Shutter Shades Crew hosted a Launch Party at Club Mood in Hollywood, CA to celebrate the worldwide launch and success of Shutter Shades. DJ IMG kept the crowd hyped all night. Hyper Crush, LMFAO, and Jupiter Rising also performed to highlight the night. When all was said and done, close to 200 pairs of Shutter Shades were given out to attendees! The party was a huge success and the Shutter Shades crew plans to host more Hollywood events in the near future.

Ok, the deal on the pair that Kanye wore in the Stronger music video is that they were custom made for him. Kanye approached designer Alain Mikli with this design and together they created this 80's throw back style. If you want one it's going to run you about $1500 and good luck trying to find this one in any store.



Shutter Shades are a design of fashion sunglasses. Instead of having a lens, the design is characterized by its "shutter" motif, which is part of the frame, and are marketed as suitable for both men and women. The design is purportedly inspired by the fashion of the 1980s, though the design was directly inspired by an Alain Mikli custom design for Kanye West. West popularized the glasses in the music video for Stronger. The glasses are available in white, black, red, blue, green and pink, with yellow, orange, purple and sky blue available for Spring 2008. Gold, silver, clear, and glow-in-the-dark designs have been released.
